Wiens Planetary Spectroscopy Lab

We study planetary science through the lens of spectroscopy at the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences at Purdue University. Our work focuses primarily on data collected by the ChemCam and SuperCam instruments on Mars, helping characterize the ancient Martian environment and search for signs of life.

If you are a prospective graduate student or post-doctoral researcher and these topics interest you, feel free to reach out via email to rwiens@purdue.edu.

SuperCam

SuperCam is onboard the Mars Perseverance Rover. We use SuperCam to understand the geology of the Martian surface.
